Attendance App in Jaipur for Hotels and Block Printing Units
October brings the tourist season, and a heritage hotel in C-Scheme doubles its housekeeping roster inside a fortnight while a Sanganer print unit takes on daily-wage hands for a shipment. VTClock records who turned up, geofenced to each site.

Who runs attendance in Jaipur
A heritage or mid-scale hotel carries 30 to 120 people across front office, housekeeping, food and beverage and security. The core sits on monthly salary. The October layer arrives on daily rates and leaves by March. A block printing export unit in Bagru, Sanganer or the Vishwakarma Industrial Area runs 20 to 100 printers, finishers and packers on a daily wage through shipment season.
A jewellery or apparel showroom on MI Road keeps 6 to 20 sales staff, a cashier and a guard on monthly salary plus a share of wedding-season sales. Hotels, restaurants, manufacturing units and retail shops across Jaipur close the month on one question: which days did each of those people actually work.
What makes it hard here
The October roster is half seasonal hands on daily rates
A hotel hires for the tourist peak and again for the literature week in January, then lets most of that layer go by March. Onboarding and offboarding spikes swamp a sheet kept by hand. Each joiner instead gets an assigned property, a shift and a login code.
Shipment weeks swell a print floor faster than a register
A block printing unit takes on daily-wage printers, finishers and packers in the fortnight before an export consignment, then shrinks back again. Handwritten muster rolls make that headcount impossible to reconcile at payroll. Days worked come straight off the attendance record, so the wage follows presence.
Three unrelated employers inside one walled-city lane
Setting and meenakari workshops behind Johari Bazaar and Tripolia Bazaar stand a few paces apart on addresses that overlap. A generous radius will accept a punch from the doorway next door. Drawing each workshop its own tight boundary ties a check-in to whoever is paying for that day.
Karigars paid by the finished item still need a day marked
Coloured-stone workshops pay by the item with a monthly attendance-linked component, so an owner wants hours present alongside output. VTClock will not work out per-item pay and it stores no rate card of yours. It gives you the day record that the attendance-linked portion sits on.
Geofencing around Jaipur
Radius is a per-site call. A workshop in a lane off Johari Bazaar stands an arm's length from two neighbours, so only a tight boundary works. A RIICO address at Mansarovar or Malviya Nagar spreads over workshops, a store and a loading bay, so it wants a broader one. A hotel property with a main building, an annexe and a garden lawn sits somewhere in between.
Shifts, grace and late marks
A hotel rotates morning, evening and night rosters, and each carries its own shift start, its own grace and its own late mark. Handicraft workshops run one long day shift with a long midday break, six days a week, which suits a single grace window at opening. Peak-hour speeds fall near 19 km/h, so staff riding out to Sitapura or along NH-48 need a grace sized to that commute.
How a rollout usually goes
Take a mid-scale hotel of about seventy staff in the central business district. In week one the owner sets the business up: the property as one office, a radius over the main building, the annexe and the gate, the weekly off pattern, the holiday list and the first admin. In week two the permanent team goes in with assigned shifts and login codes. Seasonal joiners are added the same way as October fills the rooms. By week four the front-office register is closed and the month runs off the app.
A worked example
Say a housekeeping attendant is on INR 18,200 a month with 26 payable days. She works one Sunday and takes a comp-off the next week, approved as leave, so payable days stay 26 and the salary holds at INR 18,200. The day value is INR 18,200 / 26 = INR 700.00. A seasonal hand on a daily rate of INR 700 is present 20 days, so INR 700 x 20 = INR 14,000. The pair costs INR 18,200 + INR 14,000 = INR 32,200. The numbers above are an example.
Seasons and local holidays
Gangaur runs sixteen days each spring, and its procession from the City Palace through Tripolia and Gangauri Bazaar shuts old-city trade. Haryali Teej closes the same lanes in Sawan. Shitala Ashtami pulls workers to the Chaksu fair. Hotel rosters stay full from October to March.
Frequently asked questions
We double the housekeeping roster from October. How do we add seasonal staff without losing the count?
Add a seasonal joiner the way you add a permanent one: an assigned office, a shift and a login code. They check in near the property, and each punch shows up on the admin list with its map pin. When the season ends you stop issuing that code, and the days behind it still feed that month's pay.
Our Bagru unit hires daily-wage printers before a consignment. Does the wage follow the attendance?
Yes. Wage-based staff are paid per day worked, straight from the attendance record, so a printer present on eleven days is paid for eleven. Nobody re-keys a muster roll at month end. Rajasthan sets its wage floors by class of work, from unskilled through highly skilled, and VTClock makes no claim about meeting them. It records the days they get applied to.
Three workshops share the lane behind our showroom. Will a geofence tell them apart?
That depends on the radius you set. In the dense lanes off Johari Bazaar a generous one will happily take a punch from the shop next door, so keep every workshop on a small radius. Each check-in lands on the admin desk with its pin, and an admin can correct one taken from the wrong side of the lane.
Can the morning and the night roster carry different grace times?
Yes. Grace and late allowance are set per shift, so a hotel running three rotating rosters can give the morning shift a longer window for the peak-hour crawl and hold the night shift tight. A roster that runs into the next morning is set as an overnight shift, so the record credits it as one shift.
Will VTClock build the season roster for us?
No. VTClock does not do rostering or shift scheduling, and it will not swap people between shifts. You decide who works which shift and assign it to them. The app then holds that shift against the person, applies the grace you set, records the check-in and check-out, and carries the days into the month's salary.
