Attendance App in Ahmedabad for Site Crews and Office Teams

Crews hired at first light off the Naroda kadia naka settle their week by the day. Salaried teams on the SG Highway and Prahlad Nagar corridor settle theirs by the month. VTClock holds both counts on one record.

Who runs attendance in Ahmedabad

A civil contractor working off the naka carries fifteen to eighty hands on a daily wage settled weekly, rewriting the list most mornings. A chemical or pharma unit inside Vatva or Odhav runs twenty to a hundred and fifty people on a monthly salary with a shift and overtime allowance, and that roster holds steady.

West of the river the basis changes. A facility services or office team on the corridor keeps ten to sixty staff on a monthly salary against a client-site roster, with accountancy and law offices on the same hours above the showrooms. Gujarat notifies its wage schedule by zone and skill grade, so a naka day rate is read against the grade the work falls under.

What makes it hard here

The crew list is rewritten at first light

A contractor picking hands off the naka takes a different set most mornings, so there is no settled roster to tick against. VTClock will not create a worker at the gate. Each man must exist as an employee with a login code and an assigned site before a punch counts.

No supervisor can stand at four addresses by nine

A facility contractor may post staff at a client floor on the corridor, a plot out at Sanand GIDC and two sheds on the eastern estates in the same hour. Nobody witnesses all four musters. The punches arrive on the admin screen with a pin on each, so the morning is read from one place.

The river crossing decides who gets marked late

Staff who live on the eastern bank and work on the western one lose time at the Sabarmati bridges daily. Left to a supervisor's memory, a ten-minute delay turns into an argued half day. A grace window set on the shift settles it the same way for everyone.

Sunrise to dusk has no clock written on it

A site crew starts when there is light and stops when there is none, so nobody notes a start time down. That day still has to become a countable present day before the weekly settlement. A check-in near the plot and a check-out at the end give it two timestamps.

Geofencing around Ahmedabad

Two site types sit at opposite ends here. An office floor on the SG Highway corridor occupies part of one tower, and a circle drawn tight to the building stops a punch from the car park below. An Odhav GIDC plot runs from the gate through the yard to the back sheds, and its circle has to cover all of that. A construction address becomes an office while the work lasts.

Shifts, grace and late marks

Three start times argue with each other here. The 09:30 to 18:30 desk on the corridor wants a window wide enough for the bridge queues and narrow enough that a habitual latecomer still collects a late mark. A rotating plot in Vatva changes hands round the clock, so each roster carries a start time and a grace of its own, and the roster ending after midnight is configured as an overnight shift.

How a rollout usually goes

A civil contractor with about forty hands keeps two sites open, one inside Odhav GIDC and one inside Vatva GIDC. The addresses go in first: both plots as offices, each with a radius of its own. Then the six-day week, the festival dates the sites actually shut on, and one admin to run the desk. The regular hands follow, each with a site and a login code. The supervisor's notebook runs beside the app until the two counts stop disagreeing, and the settlement comes off the app.

A worked example

Say a contractor pays a naka-hired mason a daily wage of INR 580. The month runs 30 days with Sunday as the weekly off, four of them, leaving 26 site days, and he is present on all 26. INR 580 x 26 = INR 15,080. Weekly offs carry no pay on a daily-wage basis, so nothing is added there. A salary advance of INR 2,500 is recovered on this month's slip: INR 15,080 - INR 2,500 = INR 12,580 in hand. The recovery prints on the slip.

Seasons and local holidays

The 18 km Rath Yatra procession closes roads through Jamalpur, Khadia, Kalupur and Saraspur from early afternoon, and old-city work stops with it. Two more days go to Uttarayan in mid-January. Through Navratri the garba runs late with no state timing limit, and start times slip for over a week.

Frequently asked questions

We pick a fresh crew off the Naroda naka most mornings. Can VTClock mark them?

Only once each man exists as an employee with a login code and an assigned site. VTClock will not enrol a worker at the gate. For a crew that turns over, add the hands you rehire regularly once and add the rest on the day they start work.

My two sites sit in different GIDC estates. Can one mason check in at either?

No. A person belongs to one office at a time and a check-in works only near that office. Configure each plot separately with its own circle. When a mason shifts to the other site for a week, change the office he is assigned to, and correct any day already punched.

Half my office crosses the Sabarmati every morning and arrives late. How do I keep that fair?

Decide it in the settings instead of at the door. Anyone inside the grace window on that shift stands as on time, anyone past it collects a late mark, and a mark you choose to waive stays visible on the admin desk. One rule then covers the whole 09:30 start.

Rath Yatra and Uttarayan land on working days. How do I stop the argument over them?

Enter them in the holiday list while configuring the business. A configured holiday is not an absence, so the salary month already accounts for those days. Where a worker takes extra days around Navratri, he applies in the leave module and an admin approves it or marks loss of pay.

A site worker takes an advance mid-month. Does the slip show it?

Yes. The advance is held against that worker and the recovery spreads across the months that follow. Each printable slip carries earnings, an attendance summary and the advance recovery together, and the worker reads the same figures you print. VTClock hands out no cash and moves nothing to a bank.
