Attendance App in Pune for MIDC Shop Floors and Coaching Branches

The 11pm to 7am changeover at a Bhosari MIDC job shop empties one bus and fills another. Which of them boarded is what a gate register cannot settle. VTClock geofences each punch to the plot a worker is assigned to.

Who runs attendance in Pune

Two pay clocks run inside one auto-component job shop. Twenty to two hundred people work the floor, permanent fitters and setters on a monthly salary, contract operators on a daily wage counted by days at the machine. A facility, canteen and transport contractor serving the Kharadi EON Free Zone campuses carries fifty to four hundred deployed heads, billed to the client site by the month.

Teaching pays differently. A coaching institute or private school with several branches keeps fifteen to eighty staff, salaried at the core with per-batch or hourly rates for visiting faculty. Manufacturing units, schools and coaching, facility services and warehouses want the same first fact: who was present, at which address, on which shift.

What makes it hard here

Contract operators move between plots mid-month

A labour contractor moves the same operators between Bhosari, Chakan and Talegaon through the month. Each plot keeps a separate gate book, so your count and the invoice rarely agree. Set each plot up as its own office, change a worker's assigned office when they move, and correct the day caught mid-move.

The 11pm to 7am roster lands on two calendar dates

Three-shift plants run 7am to 3pm, 3pm to 11pm and 11pm to 7am, with company buses timed to each changeover. Read by calendar date, the night roster comes out as two part days and payday goes wrong. Marked as an overnight shift, it is credited as one shift.

Faculty teach split batches at two branches

Coaching and school staff take an early batch at one branch and an evening batch at another, so one office register never shows who was actually where. Each branch becomes its own office. A teacher is assigned to the branch they mostly work at, and an admin corrects the rest.

Morning attendance arrives in waves off one choked approach

Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park at Hinjawadi draws over 2.4 lakh workers a day down one corridor, and canteen, housekeeping and transport staff reach the campus in waves whenever it seizes up. A late mark either stands or an admin waives it, and the waived mark stays on the record.

Geofencing around Pune

Radius is a per-site call. An auto-component plot in Bhosari MIDC covers sheds, a stores yard and a bus bay, so the circle has to reach the gate the changeover bus stops at. Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park runs across 2,800 acres, so a canteen working inside it needs a circle around its own block. A Tulshibaug shopfront sits in a lane of fifty others and needs a tight one.

Shifts, grace and late marks

Three clocks run in the MIDC belt: 7am to 3pm, 3pm to 11pm and 11pm to 7am. Each carries its own grace window and late mark, because the bus feeding a shift arrives at a fixed minute. Coaching faculty work early-morning and evening batches around school timings, so grace belongs at the batch start. Market Yard trading opens in the small hours and wants a shift set before dawn.

How a rollout usually goes

Take a job shop of about ninety hands on an older Bhosari plot, running three shifts through the busy quarter. Week one sets up the business: the plot as one office, a radius covering the sheds and the bus bay, the workweek, the Maharashtra holiday list and the first admin. Week two adds operators with an assigned shift and a login code each, and the gate register runs beside the app. Week four the register goes into a drawer and the month closes off the app record.

A worked example

Say a contract machine operator on a Chakan line is paid a daily wage of INR 650. Across a three-shift month he is present on 25 days, so days worked are INR 650 x 25 = INR 16,250. Eight of those days fell on the 11pm to 7am roster, and the shop adds a night allowance of INR 60, so INR 60 x 8 = INR 480. The month reads INR 16,250 + INR 480 = INR 16,730, and no advance is running. The day count comes off the attendance record. Figures are illustrative.

Seasons and local holidays

July brings the Ashadhi Wari palkhi procession, with police diversions closing core roads in phases and staff arriving late for days together. Ganesh Chaturthi opens ten mandal-heavy days of stacked leave. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti in February and Gudi Padwa in March both cut small units to reduced hours.

Frequently asked questions

Our labour contractor bills for operators we cannot confirm turned up. What does the app give us?

Each plot is its own office, and every operator checks in on their own login code near it. Every punch lands on the admin desk with a location pin. VTClock does not verify a face and never sees your contractor's invoice. It gives you the present-day list to hold that invoice against.

A teacher takes the morning batch at one branch and the evening batch at another. How do we set that up?

Set each branch up as its own office with its own radius. One person is assigned to one office, so pick the branch they teach at most and have an admin correct the days the second batch pulls them elsewhere. Corrections stay visible, and salary builds from the corrected days.

The night crew reached the plot late because the changeover bus was held up. Can those late marks be waived?

Yes. A late mark is measured against the shift start time you configured for that roster, and an admin can waive it. The waived mark stays on the record, so nobody argues about it a month later. If the bus is habitually late, widen the grace window on that roster alone.

Can VTClock run the three-shift rotation for us?

No. VTClock does not build or rotate a roster and it does not move people between shifts on its own. You set each shift with its grace window and late allowance, then assign one to each employee. When the rotation moves an operator to the 11pm to 7am slot, an admin changes that assignment.

Our client's compliance team asks for wage records. Is what the app holds enough?

No. VTClock does not compute, deduct or file EPF, ESI, professional tax or TDS, and its attendance record is not a statutory muster roll. Maharashtra notifies its schedule under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 across three zones and three skill grades, with Pune in Zone I. Check your own category with a consultant.
